What We Know

The personal mortgage consultants at MPS have a collective 65 years of mortgage experience and hold some of the highest scores on industry licensing tests ever recorded. We take our professions seriously. We are creative and use our incomparable knowledge of federal and wholesaler guidelines to find new ways to prequalify clients or legally solve mortgage problems.

  • Few know it all. But most MPS mortgage consultants know just about everything. How? Because the people in the firm with the most knowledge teach. Every Tuesday and Thursday night - Every loan, for every borrower type, to every mortgage consultant on staff. New products, niche products, solutions to problems on vanilla products - we share what we know. We freely teach what we have personally experienced to MPS staff because even though a few will run off to start their own firms with all we freely gave them — it doesn’t matter because doing it helps our clients all the time, every time.

  • Knowing mortgage guidelines better than anyone else allows us to constantly as: “Can you do this?” to our wholesalers. Often wholesalers themselves do not know it is possible within the national guidelines. This creative and assertive approach to mortgaging allow MPS to be able to do what no other lender can do.

  • With a large number of wholesalers providing just about every mortgage product in existence to our clientele, MPS instituted “Intra-Note” a method that allows all mortgage consultants to make note of specific wholesaler guidelines so that all other mortgage consultants can know it too. This has become our own, internal search engine so that few, if any, mistakes are ever made when placing a loan.

  • While most lenders work with what they have and while some brokers call themselves “brokers” with only one or two wholesalers, MPS does weekly research to discover new wholesalers or known wholesalers with new products. Learning, or preferably, using new products is the best way to become more useful to your clients. Additionally, MPS immediately obtains all government versions and updates to national mortgage guidelines and disseminates the new information through staff training.

How We Know It

  • Every loan has some kind of issue. Even the most perfect borrower will have something in their file that needs a solution. That’s why the big firms who can afford millions of dollars in advertising (that suggest you can get a mortgage by clicking a button on an app) have an approval rate of only 60%.

    Retail originators might have slick advertising and retail banks might have auditing bank statements down to a science, but even the most perfect loan requires some expertise in mortgaging.

  • In the hierarchy of mortgage originators, the lowest and least knowledgeable groups are Retail Originators and Retail Banks. In many respects they know little about actual mortgaging and are really just glorified order takers.

    Not at MPS. Our exceptionally well educated mortgage consultants perform mortgage interviews, then structure, place, doc and shepherd the loan to the easiest closing possible.
